Rare Old Hickory Chaise Lounge

Offered for your review and consideration is a Old Hickory chaise lounge. It is signed with an oval brass tag that states the manufacturing location as Shelbyville, Indiana [see last image in photo array]. This dates the chaise to 1983 or later. This form, whether from an earlier period or more recent vintage, is still a rare piece of Old Hickory. It is both a useful and stylish piece of Old Hickory! The overall length is 76″ with an overall width of 27″ and seat width of 23 1/2. The overall condition is excellent with minor wear and age spots to the very tight rattan weave [see close-up image]. The underside has about 7 screws that have been counter-sunk to various joists [see example photo] and the bar used to adjust the angle of the back is a replacement. Finish is amazing and the fabric is super clean and the only thing I see, is the very finial of the back piece isn’t there as shown in photos. I believe it was some sort of a little post. Some of the black netting has disconnected underneath, but the strapping and springs are in very good condition. This piece is almost perfect!! Louis XV Caramel Velvet Chaise Lounge by Drexel Heritage

Little is more elegant nor decadent than the perfect chaise lounge. Equally useful in one’s boudoir, library, or living room – it’s the perfect perch upon which to recline regally. This Louis XV chaise lounge was crafted by Drexel Heritage in July of 2007. Measures 38.75″ wide x 38.25″ high x 62 long. Luxurious caramel hued silk velvet upholstery is edged by elegant silk cording in ivory and caramel. The large base cushion having a down and feather wrapped foam core. The back and pillow cushions being completely feather/down filled. The bolster embellished with two rows of ivory/caramel tape along with corded edging. Hand carved solid wood frame features a white painted finish that is purposefully patinated and distressed. Overall this piece is in very good vintage condition. Upholstery has no rips, tears, pulls, stains, or wear of note. However there are some tiny/minor marks on one side of the primary cushion. The other side being unmarked and in excellent condition. As previously noted – the frame finish has some purposeful distressing and patination. In the end this chaise has seen use over the years which in our opinion only adds to its elan.
