The sofa is upholstered with thick premium 100% cattle hide untreated plain russet leather originally, this method of upholstery is substantially more expensive than using predyed leather, you can still have the best English Chesterfields made in this manor today. The way you can tell the piece is an original hand dyed Chesterfield is by pulling back the folds of leather, in the crease you will see the natural colour of the hide, these sofas are made with plain leather and then hand dyed to the customers specific colour choice, no two pieces are ever exactly the same and this process goes back hundreds of years. All in all this is basically the best of the best colour patina and finish wise, if youre looking for the best then look no further! This is one of the greatest sofas ever made, its so small, only 150cm wide yet it seats two normal sized adults perfectly. The design is actually based on an old Victoria Howard & Sons sofa, this sofa has feather filled side cushions, this has foam and they make so much difference, you can rest you legs there, lean over when you have a cup of tea, its just all about comfort this piece. We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there are normal patina marks here and there but mostly its in fine order throughout. Very comfortable and iconic wave lounge chair, model 108-C, designed by Adrian Pearsall and made by Craft Associates. All hand carved bog mahogany. Multiple fine details from claw feet to ornate panels and gorgeous wood grain. Bought new by my great grandparents. My grandfather sat on this sofa while asking my great grandfather for my grandmothers hand. Wear and tear from almost 200 years of family use. All visual blemishes are pictured.
