Victorian Late 1800s Hand Carved Flame Mahogany Sofa Couch 1433. This gorgeous large Sofa is made of wood, solid wood, mahogany, flame mahogany, and is in good condition. This luxurious sofa was made in the Late 1800s and is a wonderful example of the Victorian furniture style; it features a classic silhouette with beautifully hand carved details decorating the frame, and a lovely and brown mahogany finish to the wood. There were some professional repairs made to the frame, see pictures, however this does not detract from the great quality of the piece. The fabric has some wear we do recommend to reupholster the sofa. The condition of this couch is secure and sturdy, there are some aging imperfections/scratches/touch ups due to its age and as part of its wear and tear, see pictures. This hand carved mahogany sofa stems from the mid to late 19th Century, between 1850 and 1870. This sofa perfectly displays the transition from Empire to Victorian periods. It’s absolutely lavish in detail, extremely well made and heavy in weight. This sofa is crafted of solid mahogany and finished in a drastic flame mahogany veneer. The finish does show signs of its age, although it was professionally refinished at some point in its life. All four feet display heavily detailed lion paws, possibly the nicest of its kind! The upholstery is new along with the tassels, and includes 2 matching pillows, all professionally done.
