This fine parlor set consist of a well done Settee, 2 fine Arm Chairs, and three attractive Side Chairs. Features include the nicely executed laminated rosewood, the carved crests of flowers, shells, and scroll carvings, the gadrooned crest rails, the reticulated surrounds, the serpentine seat rails, and the beautiful cabriole legs. Like Meeks Stanton Hall pieces can be found in the Reference Book, FURNITURE OF THE 19TH CENTURY by Richard & Eileen Dubrow, pages 99, 100 112, & 118. Meeks & John Henry Belter were fierce NYC competitors. Presented in well preserved condition, the finishes have been refreshed, and the upholstery is a recent addition in Damask upholstery material tone on tone White.
