We are pleaseed to offer for sale a Beautiful Mahogany Butlers Bench circa 1840. This wonderful settee offers a high back and sides with a gadrooned edge. Acanthus carved columns with scrolled capitals adorn the front on both sides. Claw feet support the bench in front, while turned feet support the back. A drawer just under the seat offers a nice storage area. While not original the lion head pulls are nice cast brass. A fantastic piece for any home or office, this is a hard piece of Empire furniture to find. It is in, I believe, great condition there is some veneer chipping along the edges where the drawer goes in and out which is not uncommon on pieces of this age. The vintage fabric is a very neutral color and is in good condition with no rips or tears, it could use a light cleaning and could also easily be changed to fit your decor. The bench is solid sturdy and ready for another 175 years of enjoyment. Please view and enlarge all photos and see what you think.
