The stud work on this piece is sublime, it just screams attention to deatil, charm and charismas. The legs are a traditional Georgian camel back formation, three overall joined by stretchers. This Early 20th Century Settee is a great conversation piece and has nice bones. It’s completely crafted of mahogany with a drastic veneered finish. The large Griffin side carvings are absolutely stunning. The settee is structurally sound and and comfortably seats three. You will find wear throughout including chipped areas of veneer on the sides, this will either have to be repaired or filled in. The upholstery is a olive shade suede which shows major discoloration with missing and loose buttons. There’s no holes or rips in the upholstery, although we’d recommend having the piece reupholstered. The paw feet are drastic and in good condition, none are loose. The finished back is in good condition from not being exposed throughout the years. This would make a great project piece! A wonderful French Louis XVI sofa. Custom made, back and seating upholstered with silk and cotton, portraying a 19th century portrait scenery. The sides are upholstered with velvet. Beautiful Mahogany Empire Sofa Settee with Swans circa 1830

For sale is an Empire sofa circa 1840. This sofa features swan carved arm supports. Made of Mahogany with crotch Mahogany veneers it is solid and ready to take its place in any home. An open carving sits on a shaped crest-rail the seat-rail is also wonderfully carved. If you will look at photo 4 there is a small piece of wood missing(only apology I see). The cranberry/reddish velvet fabric is fantastic, with some fading on the back. If you can’t tell, I love Empire furniture and this sofa is amazing and I think, very comfortable. Please enlarge all photos to get a good look, if you are an Empire person, I think you will love it too. 17 inches seat to floor. Please remember that vintage items and antiques are treasures that have been lived with and loved for generations and will show signs of that love and use having minor imperfections and maybe a repair, which means the item has been loved and cherished for many, many years.
