We are proud to present one of our most elegant listings, a fine Victorian Rococo Laminated Rosewood Meeks Stanton Hall Six Piece Parlor Set. This opulent Meeks Stanton Hall pattern ensemble consists of a pair of fine matching Settee’s, two elegant Arm Chairs, and a pair of superb Side Chairs. This set is so named after The Stanton Hall Mansion in Natchez, Mississippi. Features include the nicely executed laminated rosewood, the carved crests of flowers, shells, and scroll carvings, the gadrooned crest rails, the reticulated surrounds, the serpentine seat rails, and cabriole legs. Like Meeks Stanton Hall pieces can be found in the Reference Book, FURNITURE OF THE 19TH CENTURY by Richard & Eileen Dubrow, pages 99, 100, 112, & 118. Meeks & John Henry Belter were fierce NYC competitors. Presented in professionally restored condition, the frames have been tightened, and the springs retied.
