WALNUT & BURL WALNUT. Attributed to the workshop of Thomas Brooks, NYC, circa 1870′s. Presenting a high quality Victorian Renaissance Revival Thomas Brooks Swivel Seat Walnut & Very Fine Burl Walnut Love Seat. The frame is fitted with a center rotating cushion / seat and flanked by rotating / swivel armchairs on each side. The two high back arm chairs feature button & tufted backs and pierced carved crests. The center cushion also swivels. Other features include nicely executed turn legs, the base of each section is executed with beautiful burl accents. The frame has been tightened, the finish refreshed, and the beautifully crafted upholstery is most recent. Height 42 1/2 inches, Width 78 inches, and Depth 24 inches. Let me just say: I LOVE THIS THING! I just don’t have don’t have this style in my home. So sadly this must go. What impresses me about this piece is the condition. This has been custom covered in white and blue print cushions. This looks to be in mint condition when you give this a quick once over. But there are just a couple imperfections. One of the round bolsters has some subtle orange-ish dots (see last photo). This dotting is mostly just on the one bolster. However, if you look and look, you will see that there are a few other dots here and there. But you REALLY have to be scrutinizing to see these. As far as the one bolster that is affected, you can turn this over to a side that looks perfect. I did not try and clean. The arm cushions are only sightly more worn. Have to look closely to see the difference (see photo # 11). Very clear that this has not been used often. Then cane-ing is perfect. I don’t see any issues with that. The wood is very good very good. There are a couple scratches here and there. But overall in awesome condition. But I can send more up on request. You will receive the Settee, with custom cushions that are attached with sweet matching buttons. You will also receive the 4 extra matching pillows. (the pillows on the ground in photos have a bag underneath protecting them from dirt in case you were wondering). Please note that I can send this Greyhound. There are casters on the front legs but not on the back legs. The dimensions of this settee are 38″ tall x 48 3/4″ wide x 26 1/2 deep. This antique settee is pre-owned. The upholstery is not original and it has scattered small rusty stains. The wood shows typical wear for a piece of this age. There is chip on the front scroll – beneath the seat cushion. There is a repair on the turned riser that supports the right arm rest. There is a chip on the scroll work that is under the left arm. Your satisfaction is always guaranteed.
