A very good looking well made and comfortable chaise, the upholstery is very sophisticated and looks expensive and elegant in any setting, the frame is a mixture of oak and beech wood, the legs are beautifully turned and finished with brass castors. Condition wise, the whole piece looks pretty much perfect, I found one small mark on the underside of the cushion, otherwise it doesnt really look like its ever been use. The velvet has that wonderful effect of stroking it one way and its lighter or the other and its slightly darker. Height:- 86.5cm. Seat height:- 61cm. George Smith Chelsea make some of the finest hand made in England sofas based on traditional English designs. There sofas come in three depths, this is the middle depth. The sofa is made from solid oak and has a Victorian style coil sprung base and overstuffed feather filled cushions. The castors are brass which gives the piece a very contemporary look and feel. The sofa is in good lightly used condition throughout, the may be the odd little mark here or there but mostly its a very fine piece indeed and exceptionally comfortable.
