Heavily carved Art Deco sofa and chair, near-perfect condition, rose velvet

Heavily carved, kidney-shaped Art Deco sofa and chair, near-perfect condition, dusty-rose velvet. Gorgeous upholstery with double welting and dozens of pleats on front below seats. Carving is mostly birds and vines, in perfect condition except in two places: some wear on one arm (photo #8) and on the feet (photo #9). Both places have been lightly touched up. Feet on chair are in better shape than on sofa. Upholstering was done in 2005 so velvet shows some signs of use. Set comes with 6 matching throw pillows and several yards of additional fabric. An elegant Queen Anne settee with a solid mahogany frame, copied from an English Antique circa 1725, the cabriole legs have scroll-like wings terminating in pad feet, while the out curving arms terminate in graceful volutes. Features High End Schumacher Rose Silk Chinese Peony Damask fabric. The Chinese Peony Damask fabric is reproduced from a brilliant lacquer red silk made in China in the 1740s. It was used for upholstery or women’s gowns during this period, made of 100% silk. Very high end construction from the Kittinger Williamsburg Reserve Collection model number CW-154. Condition Report: Very Good Condition with some scuffs and scratches as expected with usage. The upholstery is in good condition with some stains and wear as expected with usage. Outstanding 1920s French sofa and chair! This set is highly carved and very very high-quality. It has silk fabric and down filled cushions. Extra carvings everywhere with roses, birds, swans, and violins. The fabric is extremely clean but has faded some and was actually more pink and you can see that by removing a cushion. There are some wear tears mainly on the back of the sofa but for its age it’s in beautiful condition. Beautiful rose pinks and creams. The wood is in extremely excellent condition and one of the feet of the couch has been re-glued. Very comfortable and striking! The sofa is 82 inches long by 39 inches tall and 38 inches deep. It weighs approximately 125 pounds. The chair is 35 inches long by 34 1/2 inches tall and 31 inches deep and weighs approximately 70 pounds. Thank you for looking! We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful solid mahogany Victorian rose carved sofa that dates from the civil war era of 1870s to 1880s. I dont like to use the word immaculate, but it is in as nice of condition as I have ever seen. It has a beautiful antique peach color fabric that is buttoned and pleated and in nice condition. The frame is in a brown walnut color. Sometimes it is hard to tell if it is black walnut or brown mahogany, but it is certainly all there with no breaks or damages that I can see. The overall size is 64 inches wide, 21 inches deep, 44 inches high to the carved crest, 24 inches high to the arm and 18 inches high to the seat.
