Victorian Antique Faux Rosewood Carved Walnut Sofa, Recent Upholstery #31632. Dating from the 1860′s, this Victorian period sofa was hand carved of solid walnut and hand grained in a rosewood design. Upholstery is recent and in very fine condition. The original finish is very well preserved with minor touchups. American made antique furniture, the frame is strong and durable. Empire Antique 1825 Acanthus Carved Mahogany Sofa, Recent Upholstery #31579. An American Empire period sofa from about 1825 was hand carved of solid mahogany with matched flame grain panels and acanthus motifs. Upholstery is recent and in very fine condition, with brass nailhead trim. The restored finish is in very fine condition, preserving some shrinkage separations for antique character, see photos. Reglued to serve another generation, the frame is tight and strong. The seat cushion is quite firm on this historic East Coast furniture. Brass wheels are original. The old mahogany finish on solid birch hardwood is very well preserved with minor touchups, see photos. The gracefully curved frame is tight and strong on this American made antique furniture. Empire Antique 1830 Sofa, Rope Carved Mahogany, Recent Gray Velvet #29010. An authentic Empire period sofa from about 1830 was hand carved of solid mahogany with a rope or barley twist design. Recent upholstery is silky soft velvet, and includes matching bolsters. There are minor scuffs and spots that are difficult to see on the “changeable” velvet. The old finish is in very fine condition on this American made antique furniture. Cast solid brass wheels and paw feet are original. The frame is tight and strong, springs are comfortable. One rear leg is angled as shown, but very secure. Measurements are 87″ long, 25″ deep, 35″ tall and the seat is 19″ high. Please view 22 photos at full screen size for best detail. The deep rich restored finish is in excellent condition with minor mars at the edges and shrinkage separations from age for a little antique character, see photos. Faintly visible on the back and seat are spots probably from cleaning, see photos. The seat is firm and comfortable on this boldly scaled American made furniture. Fantastic large mid century sofa in great condition for it’s age wood does have small scratches consistent with use. Cushions have fairly recent upholstery. One of the seat cushions has a small hole on the underside that cannot be seen in use. This sofa is in great shape and is solid all legs are firmly attached with no wobble, there are no loose joints.
