Hickory Chair Historic James River Plantation Collection Rococo Settee. Elegant Rococo style settee by Hickory Chair. Part of their “Historic James River Plantation” line, this diminutive settee has a great amount of presence, and is a comfortable sit besides. Carved mahogany cabriole style legs across the front, and the fronts of the arms feature beautifully shaped wood as well. The fabric is a strong pink damask. Maker and retailer’s labels both on the deck under the cushion. The cushion has four loops and rings to hold it in place. In exceptional condition – the frame is structurally perfect, solid and secure. The finish is excellent as well – a minor vacuum cleaner ding to the front center leg, too small to photograph, but otherwise mint. The fabric is clean and shows no wear. There is overall light/moderate fading – noticeable only when the cushion is flipped. The color is even throughout. We’ve included to images to show both sides, so that you can judge for yourself. No smoking, no pet home. Dimensions: 52.5 wide when measured at the outside of the arms. It is 29″ deep and 34.5″ tall. The arms are 28 tall. The seat is 43″ wide and 19″ deep and 22.5 high at the cushion’s crown. All items come from a smoke free home. Please view the total listing as there are more pictures at the bottom of the listing. Gorgeous vintage mid-century modern turquoise Lawson style 4 cushion sofa attributed to Milo Baughman for James Inc. Comprised of four loose zippered seat cushions, six tapered walnut legs, and turquoise hopsacking fabric with back button detail. This piece has been attributed based upon archived research including online sources, vintage documentation and catalogs, designer literature, and other materials. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. The sofa deck has new fabric plus a new dust cover. It also has its original arm covers. We repaired a button with fabric found on bottom. It has been professionally shampooed. The foam in the cushions is soft, however it could use some more padding and new zippers. This is a gorgeous vintage mid-century modern Lawson style four cushion sofa Attributed to Milo Baughman for James Inc. It has four loose seat cushions with soft foam, but they could benefit from a bit more padding which would be easily achieved as they have zippers. And the four-cushion feature gives it an extra-long width, so a taller person can stretch out nicely. This marvelous blue beauty stands on six rounded walnut tapered legs and is ready to make a statement in your home with its mid-century modern magnificence! It is going to be stunning in your living room or wonderful flanking the fireplace in the family room. Milo Baughman, a 20th Century genius of design, was born in Western Kansas in 1923 but was moved a year later by his family to Long Beach, California. He created Milo Baughman Design Inc. In 1947 and began designing interiors and furniture. One of the most remarkable partnerships in the mid-century modern to modern design world was the phenomenal furniture making duo of Milo Baughman and Thayer Coggin. During Milo Baughman’s career and before his death in 2003. He did design for several other iconic companies as well as his own such as James Inc. Drexel, Mode Furniture, Glenn of California, Pacific Iron, Murray Furniture of Winchendon, The Inco Company, Arch Gordon, George Kovacs, Directional, Calif-Asia, and Lane, along with many others. Baughman’s furniture has been exhibited in museums and shows throughout the United States and he was inducted into the Furniture Designer’s Hall of Fame in 1987. It features an exposed wood rail across the top back and arms. Delicate Maple burl inlay is featured at each corner, along with a turned baluster detail between corner and arm. Decorative nail-head trim lends enhancement to the low back and slight proportions of the piece. Medium Mahogany is the standard finish as shown. 1-piece bench Spring-Down seat cushion standard. For sale is a rare limited edition sofa called the WESTOVER PLANTATION DOUBLE CREST CAMELBACK SOFA by Hickory Chair of Hickory , North Carolina. The Westover Plantation Sofa (plantation located near Williamsburg , Virginia) is from their James River Collection. It has mahogany Chippendale straight legs with distinct Marlborough cuffed feet with decorated fretwork on legs. There are 3 front & 3 rear legs. It has open fretwork corner brackets. There is mahogany Chinese Chippendale blind fretwork border & carved arms. It comes with two 18 toss pillows 95% goose feathers & 5% goose down. The cotton damask fabric has a vine & scroll pattern in coral orange with pinky red undertones. The cushion has a “Springdown Seat Cushion” unit. The cushion is comprised of 70% polyurethane foam, 15% polyester fiber, 2% duck down & 2% duck feathers. It has eight way hand-tied springs. The sofas measurements are. Overall Width – 90.
