VTG 1940′s/50′s PAUL FRANKL STYLE 6 STRAND RATTAN BAMBOO SECTIONAL SOFA + 2 ARM CHAIRS. Direct from a local Estate is this ABSOLUTELY GREAT looking Vintage 1940′s/50′s Paul Frankl style Rattan/Bamboo 3 piece Sectional Sofa and 2 Arm Chairs with 6 stands of Rattan/Bamboo on the arms and 9 Strands on the bases. Each piece of the Sectional Sofa measures 29 1/2″ high by 27″ deep. The 2 pieces with arms measure 24 1/4″ wide and the armless piece measures 21″ wide giving you a Sofa that measures (approximately) 69 1/2 long. The Arm Chairs each measure 29″ high by 29″ wide and 31 deep. The heavy Foam Cushions are covered in an Orange, Brown, Yellow and Cream-White Plaid/Check fabric and look like they’ve hardly ever been used. ALL of the pieces to this set are in WONDERFUL Vintage and sturdy condition with no damage or stains BUT a back leg on one of the Chairs and piece of the Sofa have some’fraying’ to bottom… And none of the foam inside the cushions shows any’crunchiness’. This is an all original, 1950s, 6 strand pretzel steam bent rattan living room or patio set designed by Paul Frankl. There is no makers mark, but many companies produced this furniture using his design. Acquired from the original owner and has been kept in the same home for more than 50 years. Original vinyl upholstered cushions on all of the pieces and glass on the coffee table. · One piece sofa (not a sectional) with 6 removable cushions. 6 strands on the arms, 9 strands on the base. 78″ width x 36″ depth x 32 height. · Two chairs, each with removable cushions. 32″ width x 36″ depth x 32 height. · One ottoman with removable cushion. 21″ width x 21″ depth x 12 height. · One coffee table with glass. 42″ width x 24″ depth x 17 height. · Two side tables. 11″ width x 25″ depth x 20 height. All of the cushions have some wear and some of the vinyl has cracking on the corners. One cushion has a hole in the back corner and another cushion is splitting at the seams. Another cushion has a slit on both sides. All of these cushions have the pattern on both sides so you can rotate and flip them to find the best looking side. You could get away with this for display except for the one cushion that has a slit on both sides. Please see detail photo for damage. One of the chairs has the binding missing from one side of the back and the binding is scuffed on some of the other pieces, especially the coffee table. Please see detail photo. This doesn’t seem to compromise the integrity of the piece at all, though, and is mostly cosmetic. All of the pieces are rock solid, structurally. The rattan is worn and scuffed from years of loving use, but could easily be restored to like-new condition with new lacquer by a rattan specialist, if desired. The side tables have the most wear from condensation, please see detail photo. Everywhere else, contact me. This set has been in my family for 60 years. My in-laws bought it new in Japan in 1957 in Fukuoka. It’s in excellent condition-refinished and recovered in 1997. We are downsizing and want to give it a new life. We’ll keep the memories! It’s perfect for your porch, sun room, or den; and its here just in time for summer! This offer is for a fifteen piece set including sofa, chairs and tables. This rattan set is by Paul Frankl, according to my mother-in-law. The rattan seating, ottoman, coffee table and lamp tables are in the six strand Paul Frankl “pretzel” style, very heavy duty. Please note the pictures without the cushions this is the condition of all the pieces. The set was refinished in 1997 both cushions and wood. The covers all have zippers, so they can be removed for cleaning. As to the seating, there are two arm chairs and a four-piece sofa. There is a lot of flexibility as to how you arrange them. There is also a matching square ottoman. Please inspect the photos carefully to see what great condition these pieces are in. The set comes from a smoke-free home. 4 piece sofa (2 single arm chairs; 2 chairs w/o arms). 1 Kidney-shaped coffee table. 2 square lamp tables. 1 square corner table. 1 triangle lamp table. I have a complete set of Mid Century 6 strand Paul Frankl Pretzel Style Rattan Furniture for sale. Comes with two(2) single chairs with double armrests, Three (3)sectional cushioned couch, a foot ottoman, two(2) end tables and a coffee table. The rattan is in excellent original condition, was painted once approximately 25 years ago, a restoration would make this rattan furniture a beautiful vintage additional to any home. Very neat set in wonderful condition. Wear is appropriate with age. Please see all photos as they are part of the description. Top of arms of the chairs do show wear and could use a coat of shellac. Sofa consist of 3 pieces with two sections having one arm and the 3rd armless. The side table can be inserted between the sections for a different look. You could even make a love seat and have an additional chair. The chair shown with the ottoman is actually a recliner. There is a bamboo rod in the back you move to three different holes to recline the back. The floor lamp speaks for itself! Truly one of a kind! The set is rounded out with a barrel glass top table. This option will require you to pick everything up at your local greyhound station. Please let me know. Measurements: given without cushions. Cushions are included are measure 3 1/2 thick. Barrel table 17 1/2″ high and 33 1/2″ across. Ottoman 11″ high without cushion and 19 3/4″ square. Recliner 35″ deep and 30″ wide. Back in highest position is 28 from floor to top. Floor lamp 55 1/2 high from floor to top of shade shown. Base is 11 1/2 across. Side table 35″ deep and 15″ wide 18 1/2 from floor to table top. Sofa sections 35 deep. Single arm sections are 25 wide. Armless section is 21 3/4 wide. Each section is 29 from floor to top of back.
