Leather Moduline Sofa France & Son by Gjerlov-Knudsen & Lind, Danish 1960s. A graceful two seater Moduline sofa in black leather with a teak frame designed by Gjerlov-Knudsen & lind for France & Son, Danish 1960s. A really lovely example of an iconic furniture design by France & Son, one of the best known furniture makers in Denmark in the 1960s. Individual leather patches sewn together held in place by buttons, like the earlier Barcelona chair resting on a solid teak frame with nice dove tail jointing. A truly standout design that makes this sofa very desirable. A fine example this piece has been carefully cleaned and restored and in an excellent original condition. Please also see the. A Mid Century Teak Sofa by Ole Wanscher for France & Daverkosen. An early two seater sofa in lacquered teak by Danish designer Ole Wanscher for France & Daverkosen in the early 1950s, model number FD 109. A beautiful piece of design, simple and elegant lines to the teak frame which has aged nicely with great colour and patina. The seat cushions have been replaced and reupholstered in a dark red wool and 50s inspired stripy fabric in keeping with the era, adding a nice contrast to this Ole Wanscher sofa. Excellent original condition, the wood has been cleaned and polished and the new cushions have been upholstered in fine quality fabric, so they will look great in any interior. A rare sculptural loveseat / Settee designed by Grete Jalk For France & Son, circa 1960s. The solid teak frame is beautifully sculpted. This piece has great lines and is very comfortable and offers generous solid teak armrests! Fully marked with the France & Son disc and marks by John Stuart, A high end american importer. These tend to be harder to obtain and they sell quickly. We reupholstered this piece in a black Maharam metric over the original spring loaded cushions. This piece is made in extremely high quality and was constructed at the top of the danish market in the 1960s. Plays well in almost any space or home. Condition report: Near mint condition. New Fabric and foam over the original spring loaded cushions. The wood is in near perfect condition and the finish is in outstanding shape. France and Sons / John Stuart tags intact beneath. A few small stains below the cushions on the canvas, otherwise absolute mint. An elegant settee was hand carved in France about 1910 in the Louis XVI manner, and has its original well worn gold leaf finish with lots of touchups over the last 100 years. Sateen upholstery has some scuffs plus small spots, see photos, but is certainly serviceable. Springs are comfortable on this antique salon furniture.
