A well-made and substantial piece made by Tetrad, this has a vintage distressed leather finish from new, the idea being its looks like a 1930s Gentlemans club art deco sofa. Condition wise we have deep cleaned, hand condition waxed, and hand polished it from top to bottom, it has normal age and use related patina marks here and there. Height:- 80cm seat height 42cm. I had it re-upholstered in green velvet to match my living room at the time. All details from the original fabric design are intact, as depicted–piping and tucks. Main feature is the elegantly molded shape covered with scarlet red velvet on exquisite beech legs. The upholstery is made with metal springs and horsehair. Conditions : The original fabric has no rips and it is in very good conditions beside some few points on the back undern the armchair. Cushions’ padding should be filled again. This suite is absolute eye candy from every angle, it has the original leather hide, the leather is in fully restored condition throughout, the colour had slightly faded and turned quite solid, it has been. Hand dyed this lovely and bespoke Bordeaux colour. The frames are solid oak with beech wood legs which are part of the frame and not later additions. In terms of the condition from the years the leather has light patina marks here and there, mostly its in fine order as you can see in the pictures. Height:- 74.5cm. Depth:- 87cm with the back to the wall to the font edge of the frame, 88cm to the front of the cushion. Height:- 72.5cm. Width:- 185.5cm. This is one of the most comfortable and finest hand made in England sofas you will ever see. It has the original hand dyed leather upholstery, the back cushions are upholstered meaning they are fixed, they are feather filled, the base cushions are also feather filled with new internal bags and feathers, they recess under the back cushion. The only antique company I know that did this was Howard & Sons. The front edge is coil sprung meaning as apposed to having a fixed timber bar you have springs, this type of platform is simply put the most expensive, complicated and comfortable platform available. We have sensitively restored the sofa as mentioned, the leather has been lightly stripped back then hand dyed this glorious cigar brown colour. The sofa has kept all its original style charm and charisma, just imagine sitting in a Mayfair gentlemans club in circa 1860, brandy in one hand cigar in the other, an amazing time. Mod and very Retro 3 pc. 1970′s Brown Vinyl Sofa Set with 2 Club Chairs. Set was manufactured in 1971. Not sure on maker. All pieces are in good condition with a few nicks here and there. One chair has a very small tear on the back of seat. (Please see pics) I do believe it can be easily sealed. Legs on chairs have two different options of placement. Far apart or more in the middle. Legs shown are placed in middle. Set is very clean and well cared for… I believe they were in an office. I work with Luxury Chesterfield sofas and armchairs and have done for years, to find one with long elegant turned legs that are solid to the frame and finished with castors is rare. The sofa has been fully restored to include having the old colour stripped back, its then been hand dyed from scratch this lovely vintage cigar brown colour.
