Original Baker Mid Century Chinese Chippendale Asian Inspired Sofa All Original. Basically it was in one of those “off limits” living rooms, both in the previous owners home and mine, until seven years ago when I began to use it as one of my everyday sofas. It is still in excellent condition with a few very minor mars to finish at edges in a couple of spots, and has the original upholstery, with not much wear, no tears or repairs, and the outline of a stain in one or two spots on seat cushion. It is very heavy, solid woodwalnut? , and measures 87″ wide, 28″ tall at back, and 34 deep. It was very expensive when new, built to last a lifetime or longer, and still has a timeless look that will fit most decor. The sofa is believed to be mahogany or another similar hardwood, and is richly carved with dragons, foo dogs, and grotesque faces. 41 ” H x 65″ W x 25″ D , 15.5″ Seat Height. Tem is in good vintage condition being structurally sturdy and sound with normal age appropriate signs of use, including minor dings and rubs here and there, slight gaps to the wood in the back, light discoloration to the marble in spots, as well as a repair to one leg, as pictured below. Neither the repair nor the gaps affect the structural integrity of the piece, and overall it looks very nice and important.
