READ ABOUT OUR GALLERY. A RARE MODEL L-10 2-PART SOFA BY PIERRE GUARICHE. France, circa 1960s, unmarked Item # 908LHP24. A gorgeous and rare model L-10 curved sofa designed by Pierre Guariche, the present example features a delightful blue covering over black enameled iron frame. It is built in two parts to allow a variety of situations, either as a singular unit or divided – perhaps with a side table placed between the two. There are sticker remnants to the underside of the frame where the manufacture label once was affixed, this set generally having been produced by Airborne during the 1960s, but these labels have since been removed. Rich, exciting and an exceptional blend of form with comfort, this is a very fun piece that brings life to a room. 86 1/2″ W (at front corners), 127 1/2″ W (at back corners) [combined]; 43″ W (at front corners), 66″ W (at back corners) [individually]; 29″ H x 32 1/2″ D x 17 5/8 H to seat (depending on where it is measured). MID-CENTURY WALNUT “TUXEDO” SOFA BY LANE. United States, circa 1960s; retaining early and probably original upholstery Item # 208YXK18P. A very nice mid-century sofa from Lane’s highly sought-after “Tuxedo” line still retaining a wonderful early woven tween upholstery, it features sleek square lines with the two sections of cushions situated over a solid walnut frame and angular tapered legs. It is incredibly comfortable and solid, built to last the test of time for decades to come. We may still have available in our inventory the pair of matching end tables with their iconic bowtie steel hardware. Measurements: 92″ W x 30 3/8″ H x 18″ H to seat x 33″ D. Condition Report: Upholstery is early and probably original with some light fading from sun exposure – this is a bit more notable on the back, where there is a faint outline where neck throws were likely in place at some point. You won’t want to miss out on this gorgeous original 60s-era sofa after the iconic style of designer Adrian Pearsall. Featuring a quality walnut frame with five rounded taper legs, a sturdy backrest with curved steel back supports, and a walnut top railing. The black vinyl seat cushion appears to be original and includes two wedged bolsters that previously have been reupholstered in a tasteful botanical motif set against a soft cerulean blue. This sofa measures 74″ in length and 31″ in depth. Condition: As with most genuine vintage furniture you can expect typical indicators of previous use. There are areas of mild to moderate surface scuffing to the wooden frame and legs. Unlike most sofas of this variety, this piece boasts a fifth leg offering both greater stability and adding subtle nuance for the perspicacious collector. The black vinyl seat cushion is in very good condition for its age. Upon close inspection, you’ll find several scratches (none of which penetrate through), a nearly negligible surface pock that resembles a burn (less than dime-size), and a few minute areas of discoloration. The wedged cushions have been hand stitched to mend an area of seam separation. The black-painted steel back supports have commonplace areas of paint loss and patina. Offered here is this Beautiful Vintage Tufted Over-sized Sofa. It is in good condition, with no holes or tears, but the knap of the velvet is worn almost off in some areas. It is finished in a pale golden yellow velvet that is almost a shimmery beige and has a classic tufted design that is coming back into style. The sofa does have a few small stains on it, as well as some staining from general use over the years. It has obviously been very well cared for. It does not include the throw pillows shown in the photo. It is an extra-long sofa, and measures 26″ tall at the armrest, 32″ tall, 22″ deep at the seat, 14″ high at the seat, 35″ deep total, and is 116″ long. It is a very nice vintage over-size sofa that will bring a very lovely vintage class and additional seating to your living room or family room.
