Designer: Danish Art Deco Design. Material: Velour upholstery with Beech wood frame. Maximum Dimensions: Width 150cm, Depth 83cm, Height 72cm, Seat Height 38cm and Seat Depth 56cm. Condition: Very Good with only small signs of age, mainly in the form of some light pressure marking and rubbing to the velour. Description: A stylish Danish Art Deco 1940s 2 seat’Banana’ sofa. Please note we also have a matching lounge chair to accompany this sofa, which can be found in a separate listing. The sofa is upholstered in Gold coloured velour, with ribbed detailing all the way around the backrest of the piece, as well as exposed furniture tacks around the edges of the sofa. The profile of the sofa features an elegant curve, thus giving it the Banana name. Like the majority of Danish Art Deco seating from this era, the sofa is sprung underneath with scissor springs, and is raised upon a Beech wood frame. The sofa is also raised on four tapering and turned Beech feet to each corner. All items are for sale elsewhere, so may be removed at any time. Rare pair of beautifully curving silhouettes that will make a statement in any home. The 1940s pair of sofas (one from Indiana and the other was found in Florida) were collected over time of 10 years and re-upholstered in a Celadon silk velvet. Tight seat and backs make for an incredibly comfortable seat for up to five people per sofa. Solid hard wood frames with 8 way tied springs, new foam and cotton batting. Solid mahogany legs with a satin finish. No stains but a few water mark on the seat of one. Although there is additional silk velvet yardage from the same dye lot if you have the desire to have the seat recovered. From a non-smoking home. Silk velvet samples are available upon request. It is a study and well made piece of antique furniture in great condition. The chair measures approximately 34 wide, 32 1/2 inches high from floor to top of back of chair and 30 inches deep. Stunning pair of vintage italian club chairs. Description : Armchairs made in Italy in the’40s, designed by the italian designer Guglielmo Ulrich. Main feature is the elegantly molded shape covered with scarlet red velvet on exquisite beech legs. The upholstery is made with metal springs and horsehair. Conditions : The original fabric has no rips and it is in very good conditions beside some few points on the back undern the armchair. Cushions’ padding should be filled again.
