This is a later “of the period” French Louis XV sofa that just might have the finest and most naturalistic carving of the flowers we’ve seen in quite a while. The sofa dates to the 1840s era and the frame is in beautiful original condition and has nice, though partially damaged red velvet upholstery everywhere. The back is not perfect but could easily and inexpensively be recovered in the same shade of red velvet. The frame is strong and retains a beautiful finish for an 1840s era sofa. Dimensions: 41 inches high x 74.5 iches wide x 31.25 inches deep. Seat height 21.25 inches. Height: 41 in (104.14 cm). Width: 74.5 in (189.23 cm). Depth: 31.25 in (79.38 cm). Seat Height: 21.25 in (53.98 cm). Wear consistent with age and use. Good condition of the frame but minor damage to teh back of teh red velvet upholstery that can be redone in the same shade easily enough.
