Vintage Solid Oak Caned Day Bed/chaise Lounge

Stunning vintage solid oak day bed/chaise lounge featuring caned seat and seat back, 8 turned ball and block legs and turned carved claw feet joined by stretchers. The Day Bed/Chaise Lounge has been recently reupholstered in an exquisite chinoiserie-style cotton blend fabric. Height to Seat: 17. The Day Bed/Chaise Lounge is solid and presents with a few very minor age-related scuffs and scratches. Cane is taut and fabric presents in “new” condition. The present owner also had 3 additional throw pillows made. One of the turned balls on the side stretcher nearest the seat back has a small chip (see penultimate photograph). This can only really be seen if you are kneeling on the floor next to to the Day Bed and overall, the piece displays beautifully, as depicted. Loading assistance will be provided upon request. I don’t do that. This settee was made by Karpen furniture co in Chicago. I restored it and the metal tag is not attached yet… There was no damage to it, just wood finishing. All 12 springs are intact & just need to be tied back together. Quarter sawn oak looks very nice. The seating area is approximately 35″ and 19″ to top of springs. See my other items.
