Made from from Rosewood and elaborately carved in high relief with a pierced back, coiling dragons, curved arms and winged dragon legs. The seat features a Greek Key band. Offered for sale is a Victorian settee sofa circa 1870. Made of solid walnut with burl accents, this is a very pretty sofa. There are a few small chips on the veneer accents, this is no detracting or unexpected. Covered in a dark teal(very Victorian) the fabric in excellent condition, there are a couple of spots that you need to look hard to see. I realize the sofa looks blue in the photos, it is not blue. This rare piece is upholstered in reds, gold, cream and a tiny stripe of green/teal. The back and side panels are covered in a coordinating fabric – red with teensy gold dots. My guests love it and always want to have their photo taken on the fancy sofa. It basically steals the show! I just dont have the room anymore. This sofas frame is as solid as a rock. The seat springs are firm and pretty darn comfortable. It boasts vibrant flame mahogany veneers. It lives in a children-free, dog-free, non-smoking household.
