This item features a very nice wide profile, tapered walnut removable legs, and great modernist form. ” H x 58″ W x 37 D. Very good vintage condition being structurally sound with age appropriate signs of normal use as pictured. Upholstery is worn and should be replaced or repaired. Tufted Velvet Sofa Loveseat Settee Red Burgundy Victorian Vintage 54.5 wide

Tufted Velvet Sofa Red Burgundy Victorian Vintage Settee 54.5 wide, wood legs, details. 54.5″ wide, 33″ deep, 33.25 tall at back. All of these are widest, deepest, tallest points of measurement. This loveseat / settee / sofa is lovely. Barely used and well cared for. Very comfortable and cozy for two people to sit, or for one person to snuggle up and read or nap on. Solid and lightweight compared to today’s furniture. This is likely a reproduction piece, post war, 1950s. In any event it was re-upholstered sometime somewhat recently – no horse hair. Foam cushions in great shape. Zipper closure on the cushions. They also just used this piece in their personal residence as a statement piece – not heavily used at all. The velvet is in great shape and is very forgiving. On the back of the sofa, the velvet was crushed by something in one horizontal line – see photos. Not sure what caused that but the velvet is just crushed there, not damaged. Or likely, no one can see the back. The legs, arms and back details are wooden. The wood is in good vintage condition, though I did hit the legs with the vacuum and there are normal rub marks from that. If you would like pristine wood details, you can always work on that a little with polish, steel wool, etc. Smoke free, very clean home. 1 dog on premises but never allowed on or near this sofa. This is one of the greatest sofas ever made, its so small, only 150cm wide yet it seats two normal sized adults perfectly. The design is actually based on an old Victoria Howard & Sons sofa, this sofa has feather filled side cushions, this has foam and they make so much difference, you can rest you legs there, lean over when you have a cup of tea, its just all about comfort this piece. We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there are normal patina marks here and there but mostly its in fine order throughout. Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses SW19-3BE, we can have it delivered nationwide to include Scotland Wales and Ireland. A very good looking and well made antique piece, the sofa has been fully restored, the leather had faded back to the natural plain colour, my leather polishers have hand dyed it this glorious whisky brown colour, the wood work has all been French polished and has a good colour.
