Are you ready to relax in this newly reupholstered, antique chaise lounge? It’s the perfect spot to get cozy, read a book, or watch your favorite show. The beautiful teal fabric is excellent upholstery quality and has a slight velvety nap. It is Greenhouse Fabrics, A5499, Color: Lagoon. This fabric has since been discontinued, adding to the singularity of this piece. Colors vary from screen to screen. The original frame was in poor condition, including one broken leg. I restored the frame by repairing broken pieces, securing joints, and adding two new front legs. I removed the old fabric, cotton, and hay, which was used before synthetic foam was invented. The seat is now comprised of hand-tied steel coil springs, cotton, two inch firm density foam, and bonded dacron. The back layers are burlap webbing, cotton, two inch medium density foam, and bonded dacron. There is one inch foam and bonded dacron on each arm. Overall, the feel is medium to firm, but very comfortable. It is not a “sink into feathery cushions” kind of chaise. Dimensions are 53″ long x 23″ wide x 31.5 tall.
