Vintage Donghia Yellow Stripe Spirit Sofa by John Hutton. Incredible Spirit sofa by John Hutton for Donghia. This one is in its original yellow striped fabric and fabulous condition circa 1990s. The dust cover has been replaced. This sofa is simply wonderful! It was designed by John Hutton for the prestigious Donghia Furniture, a to-the-trade only supplier to interior designers and architects. This sofa, named Spirit, and part of the Enchanted collection was inspired by the ghostly shapes of furniture draped in sheets in homes during extended periods of being uninhabited. This is a fabulous pair. Excellent condition with great tufted, victorian style fabric in a pinkish shade. The rosewood is highly figured. The scroll design is elegant. A very rare pair! A single one would be hard to find, but a pair in this condition is extremely rare! This type of furniture was seen in the most exclusive parlor room in the home. There are around 50-100 high definition super-sized pictures at the bottom of this page. A good looking well made and very stylish suite, the leather is semi aniline which is pre-dyed so the colour takes evenly throughout the hide, semi aniline leather doesnt fade in direct sunlight and has some water and stain resisting properties. We have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, apart from a little missing stitching off the front of the sofa cushion the suite seems A1 to my eyes and hands. Height:- 66cm from the floor to the top of the frame, 80cm to the top of the cushion. Depth:- 93.5cm. Height:- 63cm from the floor to the top of the frame, 80cm to the top of the cushion.
