Long-Lasting – mid-century furniture has lasted for 60+ years already, and with proper care will last your family for generations to come. Perfect for Home Renovations. We personally like it when we remove the big imperfections and leave the little ones for the character but add a layer of finish over them to freshen the whole piece up. If you like it that way too you’re good to go because that’s our normal process anyway. We can also strip sand and refinish the whole piece for a like-new from the store appearance. This lets us customize the color tone too. We just charge for the extra shop time. The sofa is made from beech wood and has a Victorian style coil sprung base and feather filled back and base cushions. The cushions are fully upholstered on both sides so should the worse happen and you stain one side you can simply flip it over. Condition wise the sofa has been professionally upholstery cleaned, there are some marks here and there, some wear to the piping, the sofa is good to go as it is however it would make a great upholstery project. Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this sublime and highly collectable (part of a suite) New Old Stock George Smith Bulster or Bluster arm sofa upholstered with Aztec Kilim and finished with oversized feather filled cushions. This sofa is as mentioned part of a suite, I have two armchairs with different colour kilims, no two kilims are the same of course, and this matching large Regency style Bluster or Bulster arm sofa. These came from pretty much the finest English country house estate I have ever seen in real life, Longstow Hall, it has the most picturesque grounds in such a wonderful setting. The suite was bought by the owner of the estate and set in his wonderful restored cottage which he never used, as such these pieces sat there and have stayed in retail new condition throughout. This model of sofa never comes up on the open market as they are all kept in the family, they are amazing. The cushions are overstuffed feather and down filled, they are enormous. Condition wise as mentioned its new old stock, it might have the odd tiny mark in the legs from transport or storage but otherwise its perfect. Height:- 83cm seat height 57cm. This sofa is brand new, it was collected from George Smith at the early part of April 2020. In the pictures the sofa looks a little pinkish but thats due to the flash, it is a real deep blood red colour. The sofa cushions are fully upholstered on both sides so should the worst happen and you stain one side you can simply flip it over. The cushions recess inside the frame under the back rest as you can see in the last picture, this means your never sitting on the back edge of the cushion so it retains its shape better. The velvet is the finest quality, its like stroking pure silk, absolutely sublime. The piece is brand new as mentioned, it may have the odd mark from transport but the plastic covers have only been removed to take the pictures and then put straight back on again. George Smith Chelsea make some of the finest hand made in England sofas based on traditional English designs. The sofa is made from beech wood and has a Victorian style coil sprung base and feather filled back and base cushions. The cushions are fully upholstered on both sides so should the worse happen and you stain one side you can simply flip it over. Condition wise the sofa has been professionally upholstery cleaned, there are some marks here and there, some wear to the piping, the sofa is good to go as it is however it would make a great upholstery project. Seat height:- 57cm. Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses SW19-3BE, we can have it delivered nationwide to include Scotland Wales and Ireland.
