Parlor Set – Walnut Settee And Matching Chairs. These have come down through my family and were tastefully and professionally reupholstered at some point. They are in great condition, but we simply don’t have room for them at this point. Settee dimensions are 42″ high by 58″ long by 24 wide. Chair with armrests is 27″ wide by 40″ tall by 22 deep. Chair without armrests is 40″ tall by 21″ wide by 20 deep. I was told by my family that brand is Eastlake and that the wood is Walnut. Here it is, an elegant sofa reported by its previous owners to have come from a former bordello in Wallace, Idaho. Reupholstered after its illicit former life, it would make a gorgeous centerpiece for any sitting room. Six feet long, 37 tall at its highest point, and 18′ high from the floor to the top of the cushions. The wood appears to be cherry. The sofa is mid 19th century American Empire possibly Tennessee made scroll arm and back with carved acanthus. Most of these are made of mahogany but if it is Tennessee made it was probably cherry. Inherited from my father who lived his entire life in Tennessee. The sofa was re-covered professionally, the fabric is a classic William Morris lily leaf print. Antique Couch & Chair with Carved Wood. This is an excellent matched set couch/sofa and chair. Unbelievable in its uniqueness. Reupholstered this in the early 1980s. I tied the coil springs in an eight-way tie. The cushions were rebuilt using original design. The cushions have inner coil springs on all and wrapped in cotton batting. You won’t see another one of this quality. It has hardly been used or sat upon. This has been in the family that I can document at least since the 1930s, but I do not know its actual age. Although I was told by an expert it was probably from the 1920s. If you would like more pictures, let me know.
