The sofa measures: 96 wide x 29 deep x 27.5 high, with a seat height of 16 inches. Authentic Mid Century Design. Long-Lasting – mid-century furniture has lasted for 60+ years already, and with proper care will last your family for generations to come. Perfect for Home Renovations. We personally like it when we remove the big imperfections and leave the little ones for the character but add a layer of finish over them to freshen the whole piece up. If you like it that way too you’re good to go because that’s our normal process anyway. We can also strip sand and refinish the whole piece for a like-new from the store appearance. This lets us customize the color tone too. We just charge for the extra shop time. Or if you’re like a few of the people we’ve spoken to recently who aren’t as concerned with when your order arrives exactly just as long as it gets the proper restoration treatment, let us know that too and it will definitely help us schedule your order in our restoration shop most efficiently. We take our photos in a controlled lighting studio to show as much detail as possible. We do NOT Photoshop out blemishes. In almost all cases, the photos were taken before any work is done improving the piece, therefore the piece you get is often even better looking than it was in the photos. In some situations when we get the exact same piece back in stock that we’ve had before, we will use photos from a previous shoot. Edward Wormley was an American modernist furniture designer who was known for his high-quality and elegant pieces. He had an exceptional talent for blending the best characteristics of past design eras with 20th century modern innovation. During the Great Depression, Dunbar Furniture Company recruited Wormley to be their Director of Design, and Wormleys leadership brought success to the company. Each of Wormleys well-made creations embraces modernist trends while retaining a strong historical foundation, resulting in an understated and truly stylish addition to any room. Very good to excellent vintage condition. The restored upholstery is a current fashionable shade of grey velvet. The structure of the sofa is in great condition. Wonderful and monumental 14-foot-wide angled mid-century modern green velvet sofa in the style of Edward Wormley for Dunbar. It is in good vintage condition. It has been professionally cleaned and the fabric is presentable. No holes or worn spots but there is some fading. The foam is beginning to get a little crispy from age so recovering will need to happen sooner than later. It is priced accordingly. Cool vintage throw pillows are included. NOTE: This is NOT a sectional but all one piece so measure, measure, measure, and measure again. Base does separate from sofa. This is the ultimate in mid-century modern long and sleek sofas. It is a full 14 plus feet in overall width, with a slight angle or its right third, that provides 12 plus feet of seating space. Although it does not have a makers tag our research has led us to believe it is done in the style of Edward Wormley for Dunbar. The daughter of the original owner remembers that it was custom made to order for her parents. It is comprised of a buttoned back and a buttoned semi-attached seat actually the seat is upholstered on both sides but is buttoned through the whole and attached to the base. Which appears to be floating on its beautiful walnut finished base and legs. The original almost chartreuse green velvet upholstery is rather wonderful even if a little faded and I would not hesitate to use it, we have had it cleaned and we are including the cool vintage throw pillows. However, the foam is beginning to feel a little crispy as that age foam can do. So, reupholstery will have to happen at some point. We have priced the sofa accordingly. I can so visualize this in a luscious mohair or tailored tweed. We are absolutely in love with this sofa here at the shop. It is the perfect place for the whole family to take a nap.
