Empire 1830 Antique Mahogany Sofa, Acanthus & Lion Paw Carving, New Upholstery. An Empire period sofa from around 1830 was hand carved of solid mahogany with flame grain panels. Acanthus and lion paw motifs are traditional. Newly upholstered, there are matching bolsters. The restored rich finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture from the East Coast. Reglued to serve another generation, the frame is strong and durable with a few warps from age. The seat is firm and comfortable. Dimensions are 7′ long, 24″ deep, 33″ tall and the seat is 19 high.
