A good looking and well made chaise with nicely carved solid mahogany frame with floral detailing. The brown leather upholstery is thick and hard wearing, the timber is all solid. This piece has been left mostly original and untouched, we have lightly restored it to include a deep clean hand condition wax and hand polished all over. The leather has normal wear marks all over the seat base and the timber has a nice period patina. It looks really quite charming as it is. If the new owner would like more of a gallery finish I can have this fully restored to include a French polish of all the wood work which would lighten it and the leather hand dyed a nice cigar brown colour, for a cost please ask. Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. There are around 50-100 high definition super-sized pictures at the bottom of the page. The sofa has been fully restored to include having the old colour stripped out, its then been hand dyed this glorious cigar brown colour, which is exclusive to my leather polishers. The seat platform has been completed rewebbed, tightened and secured so its good to go for another hundred or so years. The padding is all original horse hair filled so it has that great crunch. The legs are solid walnut and have been custom made specially for this frame, they come with 8mm axles so the can be unscrewed for ease of transport. Depth:- 92.5cm. It was recently made by hand in England by an upholsterer with over 40 years experience. Combining his talent with a premium, top of the line leather you get one striking piece of furniture. The most impressive aspect of this love seat is the premium leather used in its creation. We call this leather vintage leather due to its crackled appearance. The leather is created by using only the finest quality raw hide that then goes through an extensive tanning process. The end result is simply beautiful. The master upholsterer uses the finest hand techniques to then transform the leather into this exquisite piece of furniture. Every aspect of this sofa is high quality from the leather to the eight way hand tied buttons. By making this love seat larger than a vintage sofa, the maker has made it quite comfortable. The two large cushions stay firmly in place when you get up or sit down. The seating area measures an impressive 52 wide x 27 deep. The seat is 18 from the floor and the arm rests are 29 from the floor. Most leather Chesterfield sofas have a back that is the same height as the arms. This love seat has a slightly higher back which is quite stylish and more comfortable. We call this particular look Windsor because the arched back is reminiscent of the Windsor dining chair.
