This beautiful and well made sofa combined with the soft brown leather and suede on the side and back of the frame, is perfect for any living room. The filling on the seat is still very puffy, so they still have much life on them. The leather has marks that are presented on the pictures but nothing serious to point out. Please have a closer look at the pictures because they form part of the description. Antique and vintage/used items will show signs of wear which form part of their character. There are around 50-100 high definition super-sized pictures at the bottom of this page. A very good looking and well made suite, the legs are all hand carved from Mahogany, each one starts with a Georgian Irish style acanthus leaf and finishes in a Claw & Ball. The base of the frames are solid timber all the way around to the back and sides, on the side panels the timber is beautifully curved. The upholstery is a lovely rich Demask blue, its all been professionally cleaned and is looking lovely. The cushions are lightly feather and foam filled. In terms of the condition the timber is lovely, it has a rich ward colour and have been waxed and polished. The upholstery as mentioned has been professionally cleaned, its free from marks that I can see, it has faded over the years however its lightened evenly so still looks glorious. This is without a doubt my absolutely favourite Morris fabric, its based on the original tapestry made in 1887 and is current on display in the Victorian and Albert Museum. The upholstery depicts a forest scene with a wolf, rabbit peacock and various flowers. The sofa has been made without absolutely no expensive spared what so ever, all cushions are fully upholstered on both sides so should the worst happen and one side becomes worn or damaged you can simply flip it over. The cushion internals are whats called split panel feather filled foam core, quite a mouth full! They are exceptionally expensive to make, what you have is an internal bag which has a premium foam core, you then have two additional sections both with goose down feathers, the foam creates the rigidity of the seat and the feathers the absolute comfort. The sofa is tufted to the back and sides and the base is coil sprung which you dont really need as you have the luxury cushions but as mentioned this is a no expense spared affair! The piece is in retail new condition and is ready for the new owners. Height:- 71.5cm.
