Size: 78″ wide x 35.5″ high x 21 deep to the front side of the back. Pattern: Carved basket in the Salem style. This is a fabulous piece of furniture. Very good condition with very fine ready to go fabric and accent pillows. Wood surface shows some wear, small nicks, and wear that is typical for a piece that is 200 years old. This example with barrel crest rail with scrolled ears and foliate rosettes above an upholstered back panel joined to outscrolled arms with leaf carved supports terminating in floral carved pediment centering the over upholstered seat front. The settee is covered in a pale lemon green damask with rows of delicate cornflower yellow floral designs. The settee is raised on outswept foliate carved winged paw feet beneath the flame mahogany seat rail; the whole raised on casters. The small mahogany footstool with matching upholstery, has barrel form sides joined to the simple rectangular frame. The stool is raised on boldly turned swelled feet. READ ABOUT OUR GALLERY. A RARE MODEL L-10 2-PART SOFA BY PIERRE GUARICHE. France, circa 1960s, unmarked Item # 908LHP24. A gorgeous and rare model L-10 curved sofa designed by Pierre Guariche, the present example features a delightful blue covering over black enameled iron frame. It is built in two parts to allow a variety of situations, either as a singular unit or divided – perhaps with a side table placed between the two. There are sticker remnants to the underside of the frame where the manufacture label once was affixed, this set generally having been produced by Airborne during the 1960s, but these labels have since been removed. Rich, exciting and an exceptional blend of form with comfort, this is a very fun piece that brings life to a room. 86 1/2″ W (at front corners), 127 1/2″ W (at back corners) [combined]; 43″ W (at front corners), 66″ W (at back corners) [individually]; 29″ H x 32 1/2″ D x 17 5/8 H to seat (depending on where it is measured). Condition Report: Trace rust/oxidization to the black powdercoat of the metal frame; upholstery in good condition with no notable flaws/blemishes other than minor use wear and mellow fading; extremely comfortable and sturdy; missing a few screws from underneath frame. Vintage 1960′s mid century modern sofa and chair set. Galaxy Designs by Kroehler. Sofa and chair are a matched set with tweed like upholstery in a yellow/green.
