A wonderful Italian Rococo 3pcs living room set. Original pieces from 1940. Recently re-upholstered in white leather, massive hand made beech wooden frame is finished with high-end quality gold leaf. Durable padding, ready for every-day-use. All done by a team of specialists in France. Dimensions sofa: 79W × 26D × 52H. Dimensions chair: 31.5W × 21D × 48H. (not sure if this is post or pre1950) having heavily carved giltwood frame with rocaille, floral, foliate and scrollwork elements, upholstered with polychrome cut velvet in a floral and foliate pattern, accented by brass tacking, three removable cushions, rising on cabriole legs, slight loss to carving, hole in sofa beneath one cushion, approx 41.5″h, 90″w, 32.5d. A large and comfortable sofa from Italy has tufted leather upholstery with zippered soft cushions stuffed with genuine down feathers. About 30 years old, there is brass nail head trim. The hand carved solid fruitwood frame has its original warm brown finish in very fine condition. There are minor scuffs to the burnished leather, there is a tiny spot or restored hole in one cushion, see photos. The frame is solid and tight on this generously scaled vintage furniture. Italian Mod style sofa circa 1970s. Newly reupholstered in white vinyl with Italian crafted chrome globe feet. The sofa measures 8’2″ from armrest to armrest, 42″ depth from the back to the front edge, and 30 high. DETAILS: Like all human made things, there are small imperfections. We have included an image of the right side of the sofa, where the armrest and cushion don’t quite see eye to eye, leaving a small gap which can be resolved with a gorgeous pillow or throw. There is also a small area on the left armrest where someone wrote on the backside of the fabric and can be faintly seen on the visible surface. Please note that all the upholstery is done with care and by hand. Unlike machine upholstered items, it is not perfect and may have character differences and small flaws. We are very picky and will not sell anything that doesn’t pass our approval. We can assure you that any flaws will be very minor. Those which aren’t will be carefully described. If you are a perfectionist, handmade stuff is probably not for you. If you need other photos or angles of the items we sell, just ask. This piece was made in Italy between 1890 and 1920. It is fully stuffed with horse hair. Photos include a recent nip and tuck (the bottom material was sagging) I had an upholsterer fix. The black sagging material under the piece in the main photo is no longer sagging. The cushion is newly made but the main piece has the upholstery fully in tact and in great shape.
