We have two incredibly preserved statement pieces of the famous, high-quality, luxury brand, Hickory Chair co. From the James River Plantation collection. A silk gold sofa & a fashionably stripped loveseat both in settee styles. They feature Mahogany wood with inlay and brass nail-heads. They have the usual signs of wear from pieces of this age, and a small piece of the wood trim on one arm was chipped off in a move (see picture) on the sofa. It does not take away from the integrity of these iconic pieces. The fabric on both have been impressively durable with no rips, tears, or obvious stains. No smell as it comes from a no smoking, no pet home. If keeping as is, you’ll want to steam clean it or get professionally cleaned. The seat cushion in the sofa could use more filling in the middle – it’s flatter than the sides. The James River Collection is the industrys longest furniture collection. Made since 1941, Hickory Chair has provided classic forms inspired by the antiques found in the elegantly appointed interiors of historic estates found along the James River in Virginia. This lovely collection recaptures the spirit and details that embody the fine aesthetics of 18th Century design including balance in scale, refinement in shapes and lines, intricate inlay and crisp carvings, acanthus leaves.
