Antique Davenport Sofa professionally reupholstered in June of 2000 in 100% Cotton Cut Red Velvet Damask with custom welted cushions, back, and scroll arms. Nail head detail was restored around the hand carved cabriole wood legs. Original receipt from Llyod’s Upholstery in Portland, Oregon attached. Two custom arm covers in matching fabric are included. This is not a sofabed, but is otherwise identical to the Stanley Furniture Davenport pictured in the attached advertisement published in Vermont’s Caledonian Record on May 9th, 1922. The upholsterer determined the original springs in the cushions were beyond repair, so they were removed and replaced with high density foam inner cushions. The original horsehair stuffing was disintegrating so it was also replaced. The center leg was cracked so it was repaired and reattached to the frame. This sofa is kept covered except for special occasions! So the fabric is in very good condition as pictured from the above in the photos. Only visible wear on the fabric is on the sides of the cushions where they rub against each other and the inner back and inner sides (not in view); importantly – not in the front. It is very faint so I couldn’t get a good photo. The line across the back of the sofa in the picture is from the elastic of the protective cover (a little steam will refresh this). Inner Seat Width: 63. Inner Seat Depth: 20. Kravet Greenbriar Damask 100% Cotton Velvet #631547 Garnet.
