This is a Danish modern sofa and chair created by R Huber in Ontario. This is the sculptural pod shape on a solid teak base. The base insets and makes the scoop shape look to be floating. The sofa was updated with new upholstery at some point. It is clean, strong, and needs nothing except that the fronts of the cushions are torn as pictured. 1960s MCM Floating Sofa or Daybed with Black Vinyl Seat, Dual Wedge Bolsters, and Unique 5-leg Design. Do you love the sleek and sexy design of mid-century modern home interiors? You won’t want to miss out on this gorgeous original 60s-era sofa after the iconic style of designer Adrian Pearsall. Featuring a quality walnut frame with five rounded taper legs, a sturdy backrest with curved steel back supports, and a walnut top railing. The black vinyl seat cushion appears to be original and includes two wedged bolsters that previously have been reupholstered in a tasteful botanical motif set against a soft cerulean blue. This sofa measures 74″ in length and 31″ in depth. Condition: As with most genuine vintage furniture you can expect typical indicators of previous use. There are areas of mild to moderate surface scuffing to the wooden frame and legs. Unlike most sofas of this variety, this piece boasts a fifth leg offering both greater stability and adding subtle nuance for the perspicacious collector. The black vinyl seat cushion is in very good condition for its age. Upon close inspection, you’ll find several scratches (none of which penetrate through), a nearly negligible surface pock that resembles a burn (less than dime-size), and a few minute areas of discoloration. The wedged cushions have been hand stitched to mend an area of seam separation. The black-painted steel back supports have commonplace areas of paint loss and patina.
