Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this stunning French marquetry inlaid circa 1870 Empire style three-piece suite with neoclassical detailing. A very rare and good-looking set, the frames are mahogany with hand carved inlay to the curved backs, the upholstery is very old and has some kind of sofa silky finish. The arms each have rather stately looking figures carved in the top, they are giltwood as are the paw feet. In terms of condition the frames have various chips and scratches from honest age and use, the upholstery is okay, but the settee has some marks to the base, I can have it fully restored should the new owners wish to include a complete French polish of all timber and new upholstery in a fabric of your choosing, for a price please contact me. This sofa is beautifully comfortable and upholstered in a good quality leather, as most of the Halo sofas are stylish and in good size, making this ideal for any living room. This is classical styled sofa but very popular, judging its fine and simple look. The sofa shows some slightly discoloration at the front, though this is not very noticeable.
