The settee Louis XVI has a beautifully sofa which is enhanced by hand-painted furniture which present the Louis XVI style. Original paintings, along the lines of the great masters of the time adorn the sofa. This settee has its original washed patinated finished frame with carved decorations and fluted legs. The fabric is a petit point floral design and in excellent condition. Only the settee left. Original eight-way hand tied springs were kept, making this settee very comfortable to sit in. Very pretty little loveseat with painted and gilded carved wood, newly redone in a mixed colored tone on fancy fabric. The dimensions of the sofa are. INCH: 59 wide x 23.5 deep x 35.5 high from ground to top x 20 seating height. CM: 150 wide x 60 deep x 90 high from ground to top x 50 seating height. A rare sculptural loveseat / Settee designed by Grete Jalk For France & Son, circa 1960s. The solid teak frame is beautifully sculpted. This piece has great lines and is very comfortable and offers generous solid teak armrests! Fully marked with the France & Son disc and marks by John Stuart, A high end american importer. These tend to be harder to obtain and they sell quickly. We reupholstered this piece in a black Maharam metric over the original spring loaded cushions. This piece is made in extremely high quality and was constructed at the top of the danish market in the 1960s. Plays well in almost any space or home. Condition report: Near mint condition. New Fabric and foam over the original spring loaded cushions. The wood is in near perfect condition and the finish is in outstanding shape. France and Sons / John Stuart tags intact beneath. A few small stains below the cushions on the canvas, otherwise absolute mint.
