This Antique Sofa originally came from England. It was brought to the USA in 2007. This Incredible Victorian Carved Mahogany (I think) Sofa with a gorgeous horses head and mane design in the back. Lots of detailed carvings from top to bottom on this period sofa. It has been in our family for over 80 years. We can trace it back to Portsmouth in the UK it had a black leather seat and was filled with horse hair. In the 1970s it was recovered by my Aunt who owned it at the time, and I had it professional re upholstered in the early 2000′s with hessian underneath. It now has a gold sateen fabric great condition. This Victorian sofa is has a beautiful presence in any room. The horses mane has a repair at the back (see photo) but the sofa is in great condition for its age. 39 inches high, 86 inches long, seat width 56 inches, seat depth 21 inches, weight unknown but pretty heavy as all Victorian furniture is, as these were built to last.
