For your consideration here is a French Style Gilt Sofa. The upholstery is not original but individual upholstery nails are (several of them had been replaced – photo #8 ; one nail is missing – photo #12) and it is berry/ruby color(depending on light). The frame is tight and sturdy, had been repaint some paint flakes between cane which can be easily removed, cane is doubled on each arm and has no damage. One leg has a previous repair which is tight and secure. The fabric is slightly soiled as pictured and significantly soiled under the cushions. The age of the sofa is unknown. Please view additional photos below the description. The piece features a very nice curvaceou s silhouette, shapely cabri ole legs, and thickly carved floral and shell accents. Truly impress ive cra ftsmanship. Condition : Frame is in very good vintage condition, in need of reupholstery. The frame shows minor signs of use, including some light dings and scuffs in spots, as well as some slightly visible seams (though these are tight and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece). The fabric is ripped in spots, and has an odor to it, so it will need to be replaced. This vintage sofa is by Dux of Sweden. This sofa is all original and in a very vibrant red. The sofa is 86″ wide by 29″ high. The seat height starts at 17 and tapers down for a very unique and comfortable feel. This sofa is very usable as is. The upholstery shows wear and the foam is firm but not crunchy. Restore it or enjoy it as is. The Dux of Sweden is engraved in two area’s under the sofa in the wood from the factory. This is in a smoke free home. Plycon and Uship are two very good options.
