It is our pleasure to present this Beautiful Victorian Rococo Laminated Rosewood J & JW Meeks full 9 pcs Stanton Hall Parlor Set. This set is so named after the namesake set at THE STANTON HALL MANSION in Natchez, Mississippi. This Fabulous Meeks Stanton Hall patten parlor set consists of a fine Sofa, a pair of wonderful armchairs, an attractive set of 4 side chairs, and a rare pair of accent chairs. This outstanding 9 pcs parlor set is presented in professionally restored and recently upholstered condition. The Armchair, Side Chairs, and Slipper Chairs feature laminated rosewood backs while the Sofa has material on the reverse side. Features include floral carved cartouches amidst open scrolling, reticulated foliate and grape carvings, serpentine seats, cabriole legs, and all raised on casters. Like Meeks Stanton Hall pieces can be found in the Reference book, Furniture of the 19th Century by Richard & Eileen Dubrow, pages 99, 100, 112, and 118. Antique J&JW Meeks Sofa Settee Stanton Hall Carved Rosewood Excellent Upholstery. Originally it came from the Chet and Liz Matthews estate. I no longer have room for the settee. It dates to the mid 1800′s – around the time of the Civil War. The settee has exceptional upholstery work with button tufted back and button tufted seat finished with a gathered band around the bottom of the seat. The fabric is in pristine condition in a beautiful gold damask material. This settee would be a great addition to any antibellum home in the south or stately mansion in the north. The settee is 63 inches across the widest point of the back. Depth is 33 inches and the height is 48 inches. This settee is in great condition. As previously stated, the upholstery work is extremely well-done! The frame shows only minimal signs of age and use. One back leg has had a chip that has been reglued. The fabric is in excellent condition (no damage, stains or odors). The glue joints are tight. All the upholstery buttons are present. The settee is located 90 miles north of Tulsa Oklahoma and 90 miles west of Joplin Missouri. This would grace any 1850′s era home in Natchez or Vicksburg which is only a day’s drive away from my location! No return after item has been inspected and picked up. FREE PICK-UP IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. Up for your consideration is a very fine original J. Meeks 5-piece parlor set, comprising a sofa, two arm chairs, and two side chairs. All pieces are carved in the Stanton Hall pattern, c. They are made of laminated r-wood, and are considered to be in the American rococo revival style. These were among the very best chairs made in this era. As you may notice by the difference in upholstery, this is a combination of two sets. The arm chairs are large, measuring 44″ tall, 28″ wide, and 28 deep. The side chairs each measure 39″ tall, 19″ wide, and 19 deep. The couch/sofa measures 47″ tall, 58″ wide, and 29 deep. Overall, all pieces are in excellent condition. There is very light, wear commensurate with age to the wooden chair frames. There are a few minor restorations, nothing significant or distracting. The upholstery is clean and suitable for use. Overall the chairs are in very fine condition for this age and style. The pieces are sturdy, and ready for immediate use. ANTIQUE J&J MEEKS LAMINATED ROSEWOOD RECAMIER IN STANTON HALL PATTERN. Up for grabs is lovely Victorian recamier made by the renowned furniture company in New York, J. The rosewood is laminated so the wood can be bent easier and intricate carvings are easier to accomplish. This also makes the wood stronger and lighter. These measurements are approximate: Height – 41 inches, width – 36 inches, length – 54 inches. The backrest has a broken area that has been repaired but needs to be professionally redone (see photos). Joints are tight; able to use as is. A few stains on the upholstery could use replacement along with padding. If item is recieved damaged, please do not return until your local Post Office inspects the item.
