A monumental late Victorian library sofa. Made from Mahogany with figural carved lion heads over intricate paw feet. Upholstered and tufted in orange with brass nailhead trim. Features a scrolled back railing leading to sloped and reeded arms, a finished back, acanthus accents and turned supports. Ive never seen another of this quality style and charm, it is simply exquisite throughout, the leather is period and original, we have restored it to include having the original colour preserved, its then been shaded and secured to stop any future cracking or damage. The legs are all carved from solid slabs of mahogany, they have been stained and polished from new, the end result is something which should be classed as art furniture. The base platform is a. Coil sprung affair, the cushions are light feather filled and very comfortable. Width:- 157.5cm. Depth:- 78.5cm. Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. This suite is absolute eye candy from every angle, it is Victorian with the original leather hide, the leather is in fully restored condition throughout, the colour had faded, it has been. Hand dyed this lovely cigar brown colour. The frames are solid oak with beech wood feet which are later. Additions and look amazing. In terms of the ware from the years the leather has scratches and marks all over as you would expect on something well over 100 years old, they have been tidied up through the restoration process and they now add to the look feel and charm of the suite. Antique 1880′s era settee parlor couch in good used condition. Jaw dropping with all the bells and whistles of the day. Mother of pearl inlays and exquisite marquetry. Carved lion heads on the arms and appears to be gargoyles or grotesque like figures on the back. Has been reupholstered at some point and some personal touches added from previous owner… Fabric is a pretty two tone orange stripe. Has original stuffing and straps. Very sturdy quality piece and ready to use. Well over 135 years old and has characteristics that reflect it’s age in some way. There is 1 rip in cushion area. Antique Empire Heavily Carved Flame Mahogany Settee Sofa with Lion Paw Feet

This hand carved mahogany sofa stems from the mid to late 19th Century, between 1850 and 1870. This sofa perfectly displays the transition from Empire to Victorian periods. It’s absolutely lavish in detail, extremely well made and heavy in weight. This sofa is crafted of solid mahogany and finished in a drastic flame mahogany veneer. The finish does show signs of its age, although it was professionally refinished at some point in its life. All four feet display heavily detailed lion paws, possibly the nicest of its kind! The upholstery is new along with the tassels, and includes 2 matching pillows, all professionally done. Overall, it’s in extremely nice condition, any wear is shown in our high resolution photo gallery. Send us a message! Original Regency Mahogany Framed Oversize Lion Hair Paw Feet Sofa Armchair Suite

There are around 50-100 high definition super-sized pictures at the bottom of this page. This is a very good looking and well made suite, each piece has massive oversized Lion hairy paw feet to the front, they are carved from solid English Mahogany, the front panels are in the same timber and depict floral detailing finishing with Acanthus leaves. The suite has been recently upholstered in this period correct colour blood red fabric, it has a velvety finish and feel. The suite is fully coil sprung so the arms back and base, its very comfortable and stylish. The suite is around 200 years old from new so will have age related wear to the frame and internals, the upholstery is in good order, there will be some light colour variations and very light ware again from honest use. I can have the suite fully upholstered in premium cattle hide leather then hand dyed one of three glorious browns, for a quote please ask directly.
