READ ABOUT OUR GALLERY. AUSTRIAN BIEDERMEIER FRUITWOOD PARCEL EBONIZED SETTEE. Circa early 19th century Item # 803CIV07. A fine 19th century Biedermeier period settee with pierced splat arms and early black upholstery. It is crafted out of solid fruitwood with a chaotic veneering along the crest rail and parcel ebonized highlights that meld beautifully against the dark covering. The piece is raised over tapered legs with tenon-mortised joints, the rolled bolster pillows perfectly complimenting the outward splat of the arms. 54 1/2 W x 23 3/4 D x 35 3/4 H, 17 1/2 H to seat. Condition Report: Old breaks to pierced splat in proper left arm, these repaired but remain fragile. Surface wear and distressing; a few chip losses and veneer losses here and there. Old upholstery remaining in very good overall condition. Comfortable and sturdy (other than the splat, which should be shown care). Empire Antique 1825 Sofa, New Mohair Upholstery, Ebonized Finish #31416. A classic Empire period sofa from about 1825 was carved of solid mahogany with lion paw feet and cornucopia or horn of plenty motifs. Completely restored, new upholstery is genuine natural mohair with nickel nail head trim and matching bolster pillows. The new satin ebony finish is in excellent condition on this American made antique furniture. Reglued to serve another generation, the sturdy frame is tight and strong and the seat is comfortable. Circa 1880 fainting sofa, for those times when you’re feeling delicate. Nice addition to your boudoir or parlor. The woodwork has the typical design of the era. The upholstery has been replaced with a velvet from the 1970′s or so, but easy enough to have it redone. The back can come off for ease of transport. Wood appears to be walnut. Current covering is light celery/lime color. Approx measurements: 37″ H 26″ D 72 L. You will need 2 people. There are some steps.
