Wagon Wheel-Style 1950s Nautical Sofa. Original tag says: Made by Charlton Company Prescott Street – Fitchburg, Mass. This genuine vintage sofa converts to a bed (the back reclines to form a flat bed) and is truly one of a kind. I haven’t seen anything else like it in the several years that I’ve had it. Most wagon wheel furniture has a cowboy theme and brown tones but this is completely different. A vibrant, robin’s egg blue teal color and crisp black and white sailboat graphics. The wood is in good shape. Would add some awesome vintage charm to a seaside cottage or something. There is a small tear in the seat, right in the center seam. Maybe 2.5 inches? The wood detailing shows some wear; some light knicks and scratches. One sailboat graphic has some fading in the center, as though something dripped on it and was scrubbed away. The vinyl overall is in nice shape for the age color and condition-wise but needs cleaning. The metal portion that turns this into a bed could use some oiling but I just tried it out and it transitions easily. Other than that and some basic deep cleaning, it’s in nice shape for the age! I do have photos of the sofa at the estate sale to show the original surroundings. Very accessible to Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison. This is not light, but two people can definitely move it.
