The original seat springs have been replaced with a foam stuffing – we have priced the sofa with the cost of reinstating a sprung seat in mind. 142 x 85 x 82 cm (55.9 x 33.5 x 32.3). Seat height: 40 cm (15.7). We source and list much of our stock in Normandy and throughout France. We are no longer dispatching smaller items by parcel courier directly from France to the UK to make absolute sure of this. This set includes two matching armchairs, one is in perfect condition, the other needs a repair, both of which are listed under my other items. The look and feel of this piece is sublime, the curved sides and ornately carved legs combined with the beautifully aged Giltwood really make this piece scream style, charm and charisma. It has been lightly restored to include basic frame repairs, the upholstery is all original and in good order so it has been left as it is. A rather impressive two-seater sofa from the Napoleon III period. The wooden frame is exposed on the arms, back and legs to offer a country house look. The rear two legs take an enchanting inverted bow shape, as all four legs sit on their original casters. The wood has aged to create a wonderful patina which gives the frame a golden-brown complexion. The frame is in very good antique condition, still very solid, with nominal impression marks to the outer edges, as to be expected with a piece of its age. The pink upholstery is ready to be re-covered in your choice of fabric to make the sofa very personal to you. 60 x 125 x 84 cm. 23.5 x 49 x 33 Inches.
