This is simply outstanding the frame is original surface, the lines of this sofa are extrodinary! The carving is masterful which almost just comes alive when you look at it! The color for any parlor is perfect its simply fantastic, has some minor wear, should be cleaned, the surface is good on the frame some old repairs everything is solid and ready to go! This is a show stopper of a sofa! 81 wide 42 tall and 23 deep!

We think possibly even the fabric but at this point it needs redone, the wood is super dark original surface, normal wear its solid heavy and done by a master carver circa 1860, this is a fantastic piece of furniture you could use it just like it is for that period correct look.

Heavily carved, kidney-shaped Art Deco sofa and chair, near-perfect condition, dusty-rose velvet. Gorgeous upholstery with double welting and dozens of pleats on front below seats. Carving is mostly birds and vines, in perfect condition except in two places: some wear on one arm (photo #8) and on the feet (photo #9). Both places have been lightly touched up. Feet on chair are in better shape than on sofa. Upholstering was done in 2005 so velvet shows some signs of use. Set comes with 6 matching throw pillows and several yards of additional fabric. This hand carved mahogany sofa stems from the mid to late 19th Century, between 1850 and 1870. This sofa perfectly displays the transition from Empire to Victorian periods. It’s absolutely lavish in detail, extremely well made and heavy in weight. This sofa is crafted of solid mahogany and finished in a drastic flame mahogany veneer. The finish does show signs of its age, although it was professionally refinished at some point in its life. All four feet display heavily detailed lion paws, possibly the nicest of its kind! The upholstery is new along with the tassels, and includes 2 matching pillows, all professionally done.
