LOVELY ANTIQUE CHINESE CHIPPENDALE CAMELBACK SOFA WITH FRETWORK AND DOWN CUSHION. It measures approximately 80 x 36 x 34 inches, and features beautiful carved mahogany arm accents and stretcher fretwork. Sofa is upholstered in a ruched medium weight fabric in a rusty Chinese red with a raised gold trellis accent. Condition of sofa is excellent, with just a little scratching to the finish of the mahogany, and upholstery is in very good condition. I can also recommend a private shipper who did an excellent job transporting an antique piece for another customer. Carved Wood Chinoiserie Sofa Beautiful Chinese inspired seating is the perfect accent. Gorgeous carved hardwood frame has Asian detailing. Quality crafted sofa is sturdy and elegant with 5 legs. The upholstery is a velvet that changes from burgundy to chocolate brown in different light. Floral bouquet print looks like palm trees to us Southerners. Comfortable and clean bench cushion is removable. Wood frame is sturdy, all joints tight. Upholstery is very nice, with one or two small sunspots on cushions and light fading. Description: Kittinger Colonial Williamsburg Reserve collection Mahogany Chippendale Sofa CW 23 With Chinese fretwork. In the late 18th century Oriental motifs were very popular, the front legs of this Chippendale style sofa reflect that popularity. Featuring hand carved Chinese fretwork designs on the mahogany legs and mahogany stretchers running between the legs, flowing lines in back and arms of the upper sofa. Copied from an English Chippendale George III sofa c. 1770 found in the Colonial Williamsburg collection. Sofa has squirted Florial fabric. Condition Report: Good condition with some scuffs, chips and scratches as expected with usage. Fabric has some wear and stains, but usable. Measurements: 35.5″ H x 73″ W x 31.5″ D arm height 30″. Items are pre-owned and will show the usual signs of scuffs, scratches, wear and use. Upholstered items may have wear, tears and stains associated with usage.
