A wonderful Louis xvi corbeille sofa. Handmade beech wooden frame that is made in old antique look cream color and pastel colored decorations. Upholstered at the back with dotted fabric in blue and the seat is upholstered with damask fabric. Both fabric are made of a box of cotton and silk. Durable padding, ready for every-day-use. Feature here is a Gorgeous Gilded Corbeille Louis XV Style Settee Canapé, dated: early to mid-20. Brocade of rosettes continuing rounded profiles merging with rams horn scroll arms, loose cushion seating raised by cabriole legs and terminating with scroll leaf feet with decorative carved apron. Original gilt patina which shows some wear and revealing the reddish bole beneath Upholstered in cotton muslin fabric which is meant to be recovered and fabric is sheer with some imperfections (see photos). Condition: Normal wear common considering the age of this sofa, very heavy and stable, cracked on left side of crest, needs re-gluing (see photo). Fabric is meant to be recovered and sheer with imperfections, also needs cleaning if you decide to use the fabric, soiled due to storage… Due to the nature of the item, vintage and antiques; all items are offered as is condition, final sale. Display here is a Fine Gilt French Louis XVI Caned Corbeille Chair Canapé. Reed and Tie molding continuing along the frame, canted caned back and seating, doesn’t come with cushion. Low back that merges fluidly into the ram horns arms, acanthus and scrolls beneath the arm rest. S beaded scrolls surrounding the entire apron of the settee, held by fine tapered fluted legs. Display is a Gorgeous Gilded Louis XVI Corbeille Settee, dated: late 19. Barrel shaped double caned back with decorative drapery on the back rest, cane seating with removable bench pad. Festoon of floral in a weave basket crest, very unique and rare to find with a scallop shape frame and canted form, held by very fine tapered fluted legs. Very adorable settee chair and easy to place anywhere in your home. Condition: Frame is in very good condition, minor indentation on the back of the settee and a tiny repair on the back side of the caned, not noticeable since it’s double caned.
