Made in the 1970′s for Cassina, this sofa rounded body showcases a beautiful gathered camel colored leather with tufting at the backrest and seat. PAOLO DEGANELLO CHAISE LOUNGE – TORSO MODEL, CASSINA 1980′S. Italian modern, uniquely shaped upholstered seat with adjoining triangular coffee table and metal legs. The chaise lounge is in very good condition but should be re-upholstered. The leather foot piece on the seat is in excellent condition as is everything else (original, well preserved condition) except the upholstery. Mario Bellini Green Leather Tentazione Sofa for Cassina. The perfect color green for your post modern designed home. Comfortable and stylish, this sofa is sure to make a statement. The condition of this sofa is good/ vintage. The sit is comfortable and the filling is still firm and not work down. Some light wear/ patina to the leather throughout. One back corner has a small tear, the other back corner an even smaller break in the threading. On the left backrest the leather has dried up a bit and tightened. These sleek, modern, 3-seater sofas called the “Veranda 3″ by Vico Magistretti, were made for Cassina circa 1980′s. Adjustable folding upper back and the outer 2 seats feature a swinging arm allowing to variably turn the sofa seats inward in a semi circle for closer conversation, and which simultaneously exposes the underlying rear lacquer shelf into triangular pie shapes between the seats, for holding glasses, books, or drinks. Wear consistent with age and use. Frame in matte black stained and lacquered ash wood. Black upholstery (not leather). In 1920 Magistretti was born in Milan, the city in which he graduated in architecture in 1945, and where his professional career has spun its story ever since, chiefly in the fields of architecture, town planning and industrial design. The first recognition of his work came in 1948, when he won the Gran Premio at the 8th Triennale. After that came almost forty years of activity with other prizes and awards in recognition of Magistretti’s work in various sectors in different countries. Giving lessons and lectures in various faculties of architecture and schools of design in Italy and abroad, from Milan to New York, from Paris to London, a city to which he is particularly devoted, he has been an “Honorary Fellow” of the Royal College of Art since 1983. Furniture, lamps and other objects that he designed may be found all over the world and the most important design museums have given exhibitions in his honour and kept examples of his work in their permanent collections.
