This is a sofa we removed from an office in Manhattan about 20 years ago. It is extremely heavy, overbuilt and top quality. I do not know the designer but it is in the style of Poul Kjaerhold, Eames, Mies van der Rohe, Knoll etc. The base is solid and thick chrome plated steel. It is very, very, heavy in order to keep the floating look of the 3 large seats stable. The original black vinyl is very good but there is a snag in one spot as pictured. The chrome base does have some light pitting in a couple of spots but looks good all over. This seat is remarkably comfortable with excellent ergonomics. The 3 seats do detach for ease of moving.
