Our Stock # 18.5248. This is a classic antique conservatory suite, a Bergere sofa and chairs dating to the Edwardian period of the early 20th century, circa 1910. Beautifully crafted in mahogany with good colour and graining. Deep seat enclosed with traditional Bergere caning. Bergere cane in generally good condition throughout – professionally replaced in some sections. We mention, for the sake of accuracy, that one panel to the inner face of an armchair has detached partially, and that there is slight damage to the rear of one armchair also. See images for full details. Original plum velour upholstery over feather filled cushions – in good order save for some fading. Traditionally sprung stuff-over seat panels with brocade trim. Raised on carved, squat cabriole legs to the front. Standing upon well executed, talon and ball feet. Carved interest to the rails and stiles. Swept rear legs rising into shaped crest rail. Long, scrolled arm rests. An attractive and comfortable suite good to use as is or would benefit from some re-caning. Solid joints and construction delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
